Carolina 'A' Power Station

Description

This power station was located in the east of Dundee in Port Carolina. It was on the south side of the main line, over Stannergate Road, and approached from the west alongside the dockside line. A number of sidings were laid out north of the power station.

The power station was owned by Dundee Corporation's Electricity Department until 1948 when it became owned by the North of Scotland Hydroelectric Board.

There was overhead catenary and electric locomotives were used until 1964.
